Tamannaah Bhatia says beauty has nothing to do with being a particular shape or size: ‘I grew up on unrealistic body standards’ – EXCLUSIVE VIDEO | Hindi Movie News

Tamannaah Bhatia is currently seen in ‘Sikandar Ka Muqaaddar’ on OTT and this comes after an array of releases for her this year. She’s getting a lot of accolades for the variety of her work and acting chops, however, she’s also won hearts with two songs – ‘Kaavaalaa’ and ‘Aaj Ki Raat’. While Tamannaah is considered a greek Goddess and known for her glam image, the actress has also been an inspiration to many women. The reason being, Tamannaah hasn’t set any unreal beauty standards and displayed her original body type always; rather than getting into the stereotypical mould. During a chat with ETimes, Tamannaah revealed why she feels the need to do so.
“It stems from the fact that I myself grew up on unrealistic body standards. I was that child who thought that being skinny is being fit. As I evolved through my journey, movies was the biggest way of learning that a natural outcome of being fit was feeling good, looking good and everything around feeling good. In today’s day and age, what I didn’t get as a child, I feel that if I’m in a position of power today, may be some girl out there watching can see my journey and understand that beauty is nothing to do with a particular shape and size. Beauty is actually what you think of yourself. Largely, your entire life is a perception of it,” said Tamannaah.
The actress admitted that it has not been an easy journey and it has taken her a while to get to a point where she feels confident in her body. “To be honest, it’s not something I arrived at early. I wasn’t always confident in my body. It’s something which I’ve arrived at very recently. You know what, a woman’s body changes a lot. I’ve been in front of the camera since I was 15. I have seen myself in my 20s and now I’m in my 30s. I see how my body is changing. I understand the pressure everyday of literally being under a microscope, being in front of the camera.”
She further elaborated, “It’s literally like being under a microscope. It can see through your pores and your soul. When you have to go that bare, it’s important that if at all I can make people feel like I’m real. It’s not been an easy ride to feel this good about myself but now that I do, I want to give that message out to everyone else also, because it’s fab!”
