New Delhi: The release of Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ has been postponed again. A major reason for this is that the film has not yet received the green signal from the Central Board of Film Certification. Kangana Ranaut’s film Emergency was to be released on September 6. But the film board has asked to cut some scenes in Emergency. It is being said that the board has decided to do so keeping in mind the sentiments of all communities. Shiromani Akali Dal had also sent a legal notice to the board demanding to stop the release of the film.

This is not the first time that the release of Emergency has been postponed. Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency was earlier scheduled to release in October-November 2023. But due to some reasons its release date was postponed. Then it was decided to release Emergency on June 14, 2024. But even during this time the film could not be released because the Lok Sabha elections were going on in the country. Kangana Ranaut was contesting from Mandi. After this, Emergency was announced to be released on 6 September 2024. But after the release of the trailer of the film, many controversies started regarding it and many organizations were demanding a ban on it.

Kangana Ranaut’s film is based on the 21 months of emergency imposed in the country from 1975 to 1977. In which she herself is playing the role of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film has been directed by Kangana Ranaut along with Dnyaneshwar Sanap. Not only this, she has also written the story of the film along with Dnyaneshwar. In Emergency, Anupam Kher is playing the role of Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Ashok Chhabra Morarji Desai, Milind Soman Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Vishak Nair Sanjay Gandhi and Satish Kaushik Jagjivan Ram. Interestingly, it has also come to light that the film has been made in a budget of just Rs 15 crore.
