There are several rumours floating on the internet that Jaya Bachchan does not bond with bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The two ladies are hardly spotted together and thus, this sparked more rumours. But here’s recalling the time when Jaya Bachchan had spoken about her bonding with her bahu.
The actress had said in an interview, “She is my buddy. If I don’t like something about her, I tell her on her face. I don’t do politics behind her back. If she disagrees with me, she expresses herself. Only difference is that I can be little more dramatic and she has to be more respectful. I am old, you know. That’s all.”
Further, during a chat with Anu Jani, Sandeep Khosla, Jaya Bachchan had said that she is not strict with Aishwarya at all. She said that she’s strict with her daughter. The ‘Guddi’ actress had said, “Strict? She’s not my daughter! She’s my daughter-in-law. Why should I be strict with her? I’m sure her mother has done that for her. There is a difference between a daughter and a daughter-in-law, you know. I mean, I don’t know why, but you don’t feel you don’t need to respect your parents. As a daughter, you take your parents for granted. With your in-laws, you can’t do that.”
Even during a chat with ‘Koffee With Karan’, Jaya Bachchan had spoken about how Amitabh Bachchan felt about his bahu. She had said, ““Amitji, the minute he sees her, it’s like he’s looking at Shweta coming home. His eyes light up. She’ll fill the vacuum that Shweta left. We have never been able to adjust that Shweta is not in the family, she is out and she is not a Bachchan. It’s tough.”
