Unlike his superstar cousins, Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, Zahan Kapoor didn’t have a grand Bollywood launch. While Ranbir made his debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya and Kareena stepped into the industry with Refugee alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Zahan carved his own path, gaining recognition with his fifth project, Black Warrant.
In a recent conversation with NDTV, the grandson of the legendary Shashi Kapoor opened up about whether he feels the weight of his family’s legacy, especially when surrounded by his superstar cousins.
“I would say they are very hardworking. That’s why they have achieved the stardom. I see them as a source of inspiration. I do feel a tinge of jealousy that I have to work like them. But mostly, I see them as a source of motivation,” Zahan Kapoor admitted.
Reflecting on when he first became aware of Kareena and Ranbir’s stardom, Zahan recalled attending Karisma Kapoor’s wedding as a child.

“When I was young, I knew about Karisma. Because she was at the top back then. I went to her wedding when I was a child. I remember, I was quite taken aback to see so many stars together. When Ranbir was launched (Saawariya, 2007), I realized he has also joined films. My first impression about his work was as an audience. Later, I developed a one-to-one connection with him. It happened organically,” he shared.

Ranbir Kapoor also showed his support for Zahan by attending the Black Warrant screening, where the two posed together, marking a proud moment for the Kapoor family.
