Mumbai witnessed two major fire incidents on Monday, leaving an elderly woman critically injured and significant property damage in their wake. The first blaze occurred at Fortune Enclave, a residential building in Bandra West, where renowned playback singer Shaan resides on the 11th floor. The fire, which broke out on the building’s 7th floor around 1:45 am, caused severe distress among residents. An 80-year-old woman was rescued after experiencing breathing difficulties and is currently in critical condition at a private hospital ICU.
According to India Today, the authorities promptly dispatched 10 fire department vehicles to extinguish the flames and evacuate residents. Preliminary investigations suggest a short circuit as the probable cause of the fire, though an official confirmation is awaited. Singer Shaan’s presence at the building during the incident remains unconfirmed, and he has yet to state the matter.
The second incident took place later on Monday evening at the Kurla Scrap Market in Mankhurd. A massive fire engulfed the area, destroying 30 to 40 warehouses. While no casualties were reported, the incident resulted in significant property loss. Fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.
