Bolsonaro has been accused of stealing diamonds worth $3 million and selling two luxury watches. Two officials involved in the case confirmed the indictment filed by federal police on Thursday. Earlier, another formal charge was filed against Bolsonaro in March for allegedly tampering with his COVID-19 vaccination certificate. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity.
After Brazil’s Supreme Court receives the police report on the latest indictment, the country’s Prosecutor General Paulo Gonnet will study the document and decide whether to file charges and prosecute Bolsonaro or not.
