Harleen Sethi shares her journey on the series ‘Doctors’: From performing CPR to entering an operation theater or even properly wearing gloves we were trained in all of it – Exclusive |

Released today, ‘Doctors,’ offers a gripping portrayal of the challenges faced by medical professionals. The project is backed by stellar performances of several artists, including Harleen Sethi, who is playing the character Dr. Nitya Vasu. Harleen, who is known for her impactful performances in projects like ‘Broken But Beautiful’ and ‘Adda,’ takes on a complex role in this series, diving into the multifaceted lives of doctors.
Reflecting on her journey, Harleen Sethi in her exclusive chat with us says, “Everybody associated with the show has said that they are very proud of it. It’s truly an honor to have the opportunity to play a doctor. To understand their lives and their mindset has been a privilege. We learned so much during the process. There were real doctors and medical consultants on the set, guiding us through the basics. From performing CPR to entering an operation theater or even properly wearing gloves we were trained in all of it.
She continues, “We shot for two months in a real hospital, which added a whole new level of authenticity to the experience. Despite the intense subject matter, the atmosphere on set was vibrant, and the team was full of energy.”
Speaking about the USP of the show, she added, “What makes ‘Doctors’ so unique is that we’ve referenced real-life cases from AIIMS. It’s one of the many fascinating aspects of the show that makes it stand apart. Doctors often seem godlike from a distance, but when you get closer, you realize they’re just human beings navigating their own challenges and emotional states. The show captures that human element in a way we haven’t seen before. I’m genuinely excited for people to watch this show. We’ve crafted interesting characters with distinct personalities, both as doctors and as individuals. Each character has their quirks and mannerisms, and I’m sure viewers will find someone they can relate to. The show has everything redemption, love, drama, surgeries, and even elements like augmented reality (AR), something we haven’t really seen in Indian shows before. There’s truly no other show like Doctors in India.”
Last but not least, speaking about her character, Harleen adds, “Nitya Vasu is a girl full of love but stuck with a very complicated emotion: revenge. Across the 10 episodes, you’ll see her entire arc, and it’s been one of the most joyful experiences of my life.”
Directed by Sahir Raza, the series takes an in-depth look at the personal and professional struggles of doctors. Audiences can stream the medical drama exclusively on JioCinema from December 27th.
