Hubballi mofussil bus stand to be closed for four months for flyover construction-OxBig News Network

Announcing that the mofussil bus stand near Kittur Chennamma Circle in Hubballi will be closed for four months to facilitate work on the elevated corridor, Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu G.R.J. has sought the cooperation of everyone for the completion of the remaining work under the project.

She was addressing a press conference after reviewing the progress of the work on the elevated corridor and holding a meeting with officials of various departments in Hubballi on Wednesday.

She said that while 50% of the work on the elevated road corridor at Kittur Chennamm Circle in Hubballi has been completed, cooperation of everyone is required to complete the work at the earliest.

Ms. Prabhu said that the construction of the elevated corridor in Hubballi has been under progress since 2022.

“It has been planned to construct 710 m of road from Vijayapura Road-side, 700 m from Gadag Road-side, 850 m of road from Chennamma Circle to Hosur Circle, 689 m of road towards the airport on Gokul Road, 310 m of road towards Dharwad and 350 m of upper ramp. In all, 3.6 kms of elevated corridor is being constructed under the project,” she said.

The Deputy Commissioner said that roads will be closed for four months from April 20 to August 19 to facilitate work on the road from Kittur Chennamma Circle to Basava Vana (500 m), Vijayapura Road to Chennamma Circle (150 m) and for pillar barricading work at Kittur Chennamma Cricle.

She said that it has been planned to construct 80 girders and 16 span slabs from Chennamma Circle to Basava Vana and Vijayapura Road.

“The NHAI has taken up preparatory works to facilitate rotary works at Kittur Chennamma Circle. For four months, the mofussil and city transport bus station at Kittur Chennamma Circle will be temporarily closed and shifted to the space near IT Park,” she said.

This apart, temporary bus stations will be set up near Karwar Road, CBT and Hosur Bus stations for buses plying to Hubballi from Vijayapura and Gadag and other places. The Police Department has been directed to initiate steps to streamline vehicular movement, she said.

Municipal Commissioner Rudresh Ghali, Deputy Commissioner of Police Raveesh C.R., Superintending Engineer of NHAI T. Pradeep were present.
