The police rescued 17 women, who have been compelled to bounce in orchestra teams, throughout a search operation at numerous places in Bihar’s Saran district, a senior officer stated on Saturday.
Five orchestra operators have been detained on this connection, a senior officer stated.
Among the rescued minors, eight are residents of West Bengal, 4 are from Odisha, two every from Jharkhand and Delhi and one from Bihar, he stated.
Talking to reporters, Saran SP Kumar Ashish stated, “After a letter was obtained from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), members of a number of NGOs together with the native police performed raids at Mashrakh, Panapur and Ishuapur, and rescued 17 women, who have been compelled to bounce in orchestra teams.” The raids have been performed on Thursday and Friday, the SP stated, including that the police have additionally knowledgeable members of the family of all rescued women.
“The police have detained 5 orchestra operators on this connection, and they’re being examined. A case has been registered and the investigation is underway,” he stated.
The police have to date rescued 162 women, who have been compelled to bounce in orchestra teams, since May 2024 and registered 21 FIRs towards 56 folks, the SP stated.
According to a member of the workforce engaged within the raids, rescued women instructed the police that the orchestra operators promised them work in music albums.
