Abohar, Punjab: Punjab is facing an unprecedented electricity crisis, with power cuts lasting 10-12 hours daily. In Abohar tehsil of Fazilka district, people have been suffering from power outages every day, from 9 AM to 6-7 PM, making their lives miserable. The situation has sparked massive outrage, with many believing that these blackouts are politically motivated.
Ever since Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suffered a humiliating defeat in the Delhi elections, Punjab has been facing continuous power cuts. This has led to growing suspicion that Kejriwal is punishing Punjab for his loss. The same Kejriwal who once boasted about providing “free electricity” is now nowhere to be seen while Punjab is being pushed into darkness.
Public Outrage Grows as Punjab Suffers
The frustration among the people is evident. Business owners are facing losses, students are unable to study, farmers are struggling with irrigation, and households are left without fans or coolers in the rising heat.
A local shopkeeper in Abohar vented his anger, saying:
“They fooled us with the promise of free electricity, but now we don’t even get regular electricity! Kejriwal lost in Delhi, so now he’s taking revenge on Punjab? We didn’t vote for free power cuts!”
Farmers, who rely heavily on electricity for irrigation, are also feeling betrayed. One farmer expressed his frustration:
“First, they promised 24-hour power. Now, they have taken away even what we used to get before. If this continues, our crops will dry up, and so will our patience!”
Fake Free Electricity or Complete Blackout?
AAP’s biggest election promise was “free electricity”, but the current situation proves it was nothing but a scam. Instead of 24/7 electricity, Punjab is getting 10-12 hours of no electricity.
People are now questioning:
- If AAP couldn’t manage power supply, why did they make false promises?
- Why are power cuts happening right after Kejriwal lost in Delhi?
- If Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is truly in charge, why is he silent on this crisis?
The so-called “Delhi Model” that Kejriwal promoted seems to be crumbling, and Punjab is paying the price.
Where is the Government? Why is Kejriwal Silent?
The biggest question right now is—why is the Punjab government completely silent on these power cuts?
- Kejriwal, who loves holding press conferences, has not said a word about why Punjab is suffering.
- CM Bhagwant Mann, who claims to be working for Punjab’s progress, has not addressed the people on this issue.
Meanwhile, while Punjabis suffer in the heat, Kejriwal is comfortably enjoying air conditioning in Delhi, and Bhagwant Mann is busy following his orders.
People Demand Immediate Action
The patience of Punjab’s people is running out. If the situation doesn’t improve, mass protests and demonstrations are expected. The AAP government must immediately:
- Restore regular electricity supply and stop the long power cuts.
- Address the public and explain why Punjab is suffering.
- Stop playing politics and actually work on improving power infrastructure.
Final Word: Punjab Won’t Stay Silent Anymore!
AAP came to power with big promises, but today, Punjab’s people feel cheated. If the power cuts continue, the people of Punjab will remember this in the next election—just like Delhi did
