Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes O.R. Kelu has termed the Agri-Nutri Garden project as a pioneering initiative designed to help restore a unique food culture.
Inaugurating the project at Andoor near Ambalavayal in Wayanad on Monday, the Minister stressed the importance of creating a nutritionally rich and healthy community through the establishment of organic agricultural gardens.
The project seeks to ensure production of pesticide-free vegetables in every household through organic farming, guided by the Kudumbashree Mission. It aims to facilitate organic farming across 235 acres, targeting over 7,800 households.
The Minister also distributed vegetable seedlings to joint liability groups on the occasion. Ambalavayal grama panchayat president A. Hafsath presided over the function.
