Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday inaugurated several new facilities of the State Police including a feedback and grievance redressal mechanism for the public and an artificial intelligence-enabled security operations centre.

The public can scan QR codes provided at police stations to use the feedback and grievance redressal system, Mr. Vijayan said. They will be able to use it to communicate their feedback or lodge complaints regarding the services offered by the department. The facility will also be available on the ‘Thuna’ website and the Pol-App of the Kerala Police, Mr. Vijayan said.

The AI-enabled security operation centre is meant to act as shield for the digital assets of the police from cyber threats. In the first phase, the centre will provide round-the-clock cover to the State Police Headquarters, the City Police Commissionerate, the police stations in the city, the Chief Minister said. The coverage will be extended to other districts this year itself after assessing the feedback from the initial phase, he said.

The Chief Minister inaugurated 30 new buildings of the Police Department and laid the foundation stone for six buildings. The inaugurated buildings include three women cyber police stations, eight police stations, six camp offices, a creche and a custodial facilitation centre.

Antony Raju MLA presided. State Police Chief Shaik Darvesh Saheb, ADGPs Manoj Abraham. S. Sreejith, H. Venkatesh were present.
