With Pakistan forces retaliating with drones and missiles on the bordering States in India, many people were seen with tension since late in the night on Thursday (May 8, 2025), in many parts in the State.
As the attacks between Pakistan and India escalated and were being telecast in many news channels, people were seen glued to the televisions on Friday (May 9).
Police officers visited the airport, bus and railway stations and stepped up vigil at the public places.
Many people, students and the youth called up their family members staying in different States and abroad, and were seen discussing over the war-like situation between India and Pakistan, which created tension among the citizens.
People were seen watching the missile and drone attacks, and the blackout areas, in their mobile phones at many centres and were discussing on the repercussions of the war.
“Tense situation is continuing on India-Pakistan borders. How can we sleep when the war has intensified between the two countries and the attacks were seen clearly,” said a student, A. Narender, who was watching the war scenes in Vijayawada.
“In the television channels it was clearly seen that Pakistan army was targetting the Indian military stations and resorting to attacks on residential areas with missiles, and the counter attacks of Indian army,” said K. Aishvarya, who was watching the war on her mobile phone.
“At this time, the entire country should extend support to the Indian Armed Forces, who were fighting against the terrorists. On seeing the shells of the missiles on Friday (May 9), it was clear on how Pakistan resorted to attacks on the general public,” P. Prasanth, a student said.
