Slamming actor Kamal Haasan for “talking insensitively” concerning the Kannada language, veteran BJP chief B S Yediyurappa on Tuesday stated that he should respectfully apologise to Kannada and Kannadigas.

The former Chief Minister stated, apologising doesn’t make anybody smaller, nor does vanity make anybody higher.

Actor-politician Haasan’s latest assertion claiming that “Kannada was born out of Tamil” throughout a promotional occasion for his upcoming movie ‘Thug Life’ has sparked widespread outrage amongst pro-Kannada teams and cultural organisations.

Taking to ‘X’, Yediyurappa stated, ‘Kannada is reality, Kannada is everlasting’ isn’t just the rallying cry of Kannadigas, “however it’s also the pledge of Kannadigas in direction of mom Bhuvaneshwari, the deity of Kannada”.
