In a bid to tackle Bengaluru’s perennial pothole problem, BBMP administrator Tushar Giri Nath has instructed officials to use cold mix and eco-fix materials to ensure quick and effective pothole repairs across the city, especially during the ongoing monsoon.

At a review meeting held at the BBMP head office on Tuesday, he emphasised that immediate action must be taken in all eight BBMP zones. He directed officials to engage local contractors to procure necessary asphalt and materials for filling potholes, and to submit daily progress reports.

Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Mr. Nath stressed the importance of completing the ongoing ₹690-crore road asphalting projects within BBMP limits at the earliest, without unnecessary delays.

Addressing flooding issues, he pointed out that 82 locations across Bengaluru are prone to stagnation during rains, leading to traffic snarls. He directed officials to ensure the smooth flow of rainwater into side drains and prevent water accumulation.
