The Union Cabinet approved the ‘One Nation One Election’ reform on Wednesday. The Kovind panel’s report on simultaneous elections received Cabinet approval. This high-level committee report on “one nation, one election” was presented to the Union Cabinet on the same day. The committee, led by former President Ram Nath Kovind, had submitted its report in March, prior to the Lok Sabha election announcement.
