COMEDK UGET held successfully with 86.51% attendance-OxBig News Network

COMEDK UGET, which is the gateway for admissions to approximately 20,000 engineering seats in about 150 engineering colleges of Karnataka, was held on Saturday with 86.51% attendance across the country.

The Undergraduate Entrance Test was held in three sessions in online mode. According to the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK), the total number of candidates who attended the exam is 1,08,668 out of the 1,25,607 who had registered. In Karnataka, the number of candidates who attended was 37,922 out of the 42,263 registered, whereas the number of candidates who attended the test in Bengaluru was 18,977 out of the 21,230 registered.

The examination was conducted in 166 cities across India and 24 cities in Karnataka. In the wake of Operation Sindoor, the entrance test was postponed in 13 centres in States along the India-Pakistan border. In all, the test was conducted in 235 centres across India, including 70 in Karnataka and 34 in Bengaluru.

“Among these 235 centres, the third session was postponed in 11 centres and the test here will be conducted along with the 13 centres where the exam was already postponed,” said a press release.

One centre in Bengaluru had a power outage, and candidates were compensated by providing extra time to complete the exam. “The provisional answer keys will be notified after the conduct of the test at the postponed centres. The final answer key and the rank cards will be made available after the conduct of the test in the postponed centers,” it stated.
