In an organisational reshuffle, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed Bhupesh Baghel as AICC general secretary in charge of Punjab.
Rajya Sabha member Rajani Patil has been made AICC in-charge of Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. BK Hariprasad has been made AICC in-charge for Haryana.
Rajya Sabha member Syed Naseer Hussain has been relieved from his responsibilities in the Congress president’s office and becomes AICC general secretary in-charge of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Harish Chaudhary has been given the charge of Madhya Pradesh, Girish Chodankar of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Ajay Kumar Lallu of Odisha, K Raju of Jharkhand, Meenakshi Natarajan of Telangana, Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka of Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim and Krishna Allavaru of Bihar.
The party appreciated the contribution of six outgoing general secretaries, namely, Dipak Babtia, Mohan Prakash, Bharatsinh Solanki, ajeev Shukla, Ajay Kumar and Devender Yadav.
All other general secretaries and in-charges will continue to serve in their designated capacities, a press release issued by AICC general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal said.
The latest organisational reshuffle followed appointment of New PCC president and naming of the CLP leader for Maharashtra on Thursday.
