Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday slammed the Congress, stating its priority is “family first” and its policies around it.
Addressing the Rajya Sabha during the debate on Motion of Thanks to the President’s address, PM Modi said, “Sabka ka Saath, Sabka Vikas is responsibility of all, but to expect that from Congress is a big mistake.”
He said the Congress model is “mixture of lies, cheating, appeasement and nepotism”.
“Nation first is BJP’s priority and people have supported our development model,” the PM said in Rajya Sabha.
He said the governance model of BJP-led NDA is not appeasement, but ‘santushtikaran’ (satisfaction of all).
“Our attempt is to ensure optimal utilisation of resources for welfare of people.”
“We strengthened SC, ST laws to ensure protection of rights of dalits and oppressed,” the PM said.
He said the Congress did not give constitutional status to OBC commission as it was against the party’s policy of appeasement and family first.
Targeting the Congress, the PM said the party had hatred and anger towards B R Ambedkar and they made all efforts to defeat him twice in Lok Sabha polls.
“Congress government did not give Bharat Ratna to BR Ambedkar, but today they are forced to say ‘Jai Bhim’,” said PM Modi.
The Parliament Budget Session entered its fifth day on Thursday. The first part of the Budget Session is being held from January 31 to February 13 while the second part will be held between March 10 and April 4.
Earlier, Congress gave notice to move an adjournment motion, seeking a discussion on the manner in which the Indian nationals were deported from the US in its military aircraft. — with PTI
