Revenue Minister K. Rajan launched the third phase of the digital land resurvey project in Thrissur district on Saturday.
“The State’s digital resurvey procedures are advancing in an unprecedented pace. This resurvey will go down in history as Kerala’s second major land reform,” he said, noting that cutting-edge technology, including support from the Geological Survey, is being used to map land records with accuracy.
He pointed out that the survey has already covered 200 villages in the first phase and 238 villages in the second phase. The third phase, currently under way, includes another 200 villages.
The Minister also inaugurated a digital land resurvey camp office at Pananchery village. The project marked another milestone in the State’s journey towards a fully digitised land record system.
District panchayat president V. S. Prince presided. Ollur block panchayat president K. R. Ravi was the chief guest.
