Five arrested for plotting murder of rowdy-sheeter in Hyderabad-OxBig News Network

The Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone, along with Langer Houz police, foiled a murder conspiracy and arrested five individuals in possession of two country-made pistols and five live rounds.

The five accused have been identified as Syed Afroz, 37, Mohd Shah Owais, 29, Mohd Arbaaz Khan, 22, Syed Firdos, 34, and Syed Imtiyaz Ali, 45.

Two suspects, Jaber and Mohd Jameel, are absconding.

“The gang was plotting to eliminate a rowdy-sheeter and his brother over financial and personal disputes linked to real estate dealings,” said Mohd Iqbal Siddique, Additional DCP, South West Zone.

The operation was carried out on April 18 at around 5 p.m., when police, acting on credible intelligence, apprehended the accused while they were preparing to execute the plan in Langer Houz.

The primary target was identified as Ahmed Ali Khan, also known as Ashraf or Ashu, a rowdy sheeter of Narsingi police station limits, along with his brother Ibrahim, also known as Amer.

“The main accused, Syed Afroz, runs a construction business and had previously been involved in real estate transactions with Ashraf and Amer. Tensions escalated when the latter reportedly failed to allegedly honour financial commitments in the business,” explained the officer.

Mohd Shah Owais and Syed Firdos, also involved in real estate, similarly held grudges over unpaid dues. Another accused, Syed Imtiyaz Ali, sought revenge for the murder of his younger brother Syed Fayazuddin, allegedly committed by Ashraf, Amer, and their associates in a previous case registered in 2020.

“Afroz acquired weapons with the assistance of Jaber, a rowdy sheeter from Attapur police station (currently absconding) limits, and Mohd Jameel alias Jammu, who is also at large,” added the officer.

During the operation, police seized two country-made pistols, five live rounds, six mobile phones, and a SUV. The total estimated value of seized property is ₹5.10 lakh.
