Nageshwar Reddy, chairman & founder of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad & Dr Satyanarayana Reddy (Extreme Right), Medical Superintendent, AIMSR look on, at the graduation ceremony hosted by the Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (AIMSR) in Hyderabad.

The convocation ceremony for the students of Apollo Medical College’s undergraduate batch 2018 was held in Hyderabad on Monday (December 2, 2024). A hundred undergraduate students received their degrees on the occasion. Since its inception in 2012, over 700 Students have graduated from the medical college in Hyderabad. 

Chief guest of the ceremony D Nageshwar Reddy, chairman & founder of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG), conferred the degrees. Guest of honour Sangita Reddy, joint managing director, Apollo Hospitals Group; dean K. Manohar and Aparna Reddy, COO, AIMSR were present on the occasion. 

Mr. Nageshwar Reddy said “Everybody advises you to work hard, but my message to you is to work smart. When you work smart, hard work becomes enjoyable. I work smart because I enjoy listening to my patients’ stories, enjoy watching the endoscopy monitor as I do the procedures, I enjoy reading medical research as it comes out, I enjoy discussing the latest research project. If you do whatever you do with passion, hard work becomes enjoyable”. He added that the world is changing rapidly, if students remain where they are, they will remain backward. 

Dr. Sangita Reddy said that the 2018 batch were the institute’s first batch who went into practice on rotations in the hospital during Covid. “You were the first hybrid batch. You taught us how to teach from the class room as well as remotely. You went and met patients during Covid, in all that you have already been exposed to the challenges that this world is going to place before you,” she said.
