Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said that legal action will be taken against stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra, as per the provisions of law, and that he should apologise.
“The way stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has tried to insult Eknath Shinde, we condemn it. The people of Maharashtra have decided in the election of 2024 who ‘gaddar’ is, and who ‘khuddar’ is. Everyone has the right to do comedy, but if there is purposely effort to insult and defame a top leader, it won’t be tolerated. Proper legal action will be taken. Kunal Kamra should apologise. He shows the Constitution which Rahul Gandhi holds too. Neither of them have read it. There is a limitation to the freedom of expression. You can’t save yourself from your sins by showing Rahul Gandhi’s Constitution,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that every responsible citizen should take care that his actions don’t lead to law and order situation.
