The Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) is set to host a global livestock conclave at its headquarters at Pookode in Wayanad, from December 20 to December 29. The 10-day event aims to foster comprehensive development in livestock and animal husbandry sectorswith focus on enhancing dairy productivity, according to a statement from the organisers.
Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development J. Chinchurani will formally inaugurate the event on December 21.
The conclave will feature stalls showcasing livestock, dairy farming, aquafarming, poultry, and agriculture. Attendees can look forward to live animal exhibitions, expos, and display stalls from both government and private entities.
A series of seminars will be handled by experts from across the country and abroad, addressing critical issues such as opportunities and challenges in livestock and dairy sectors, strategies for mitigating wildlife attacks in human habitats and agricultural areas, fostering entrepreneurship in dairy farming, and addressing concerns related to the fisheries sector.
Additionally, the event will offer real-time consultancy services for farmers, providing expert guidance on livestock diseases and treatments.
