The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition on Friday began early preparations for the Bihar Assembly elections. All ruling dispensation MPs met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the capital today.
Union ministers Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Chirag Paswan were part of the delegation, as was JDU working president Sanjay Jha, a Rajya Sabha MP.
The delegation thanked the Prime Minister for the Union budget, which proposed major announcements for the development of Bihar, a state that has traditionally lagged in development indicators.
The delegation is also understood to have expressed its readiness for the upcoming election in the state.
The BJP is also expected to make an early start on its Bihar strategy.
Meetings will be planned once the results of the Delhi polls are announced tomorrow.
The BJP is hoping for a comeback in Delhi after 27 years. If that happens, the momentum is bound to impact the Bihar polls later this year.
The NDA dispensation in Bihar will contest the Bihar elections together. The BJP is unlikely to disturb JDU chief and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.
