JAMMU: The NIA has filed a charge sheet against two persons linked with Hizb-ul-Mujahideeen (HM) before a special court in Jammu in an arms and explosives seizure case.
The duo chargesheeted are Mubashir Maqbool Mir and Waheed ul-Zahoor, the driver of the vehicle from which explosives, arms and ammunition and other incriminating materials were seized at Machipora in Baramulla district on June 30.
Waheed, who tried to flee when security forces signalled his vehicle to stop at a check post, was chased and nabbed. He confessed to working as an Over Ground Worker for HM. The probe led to the identification of Mir as a co-conspirator, and he, too, was subsequently arrested.
The two men were in contact with their Pakistan-based HM handlers, an official said.
