Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday (March 20, 2025) lost his cool over the use of mobile phones in the Bihar Assembly. Mr. Kumar asked Bihar Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav to ban mobile phones in the House. Mr. Kumar also said that excessive use of mobile phones will end the earth within 10 years.
Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav condemned the Bihar CM calling him a conservative and outdated Chief Minister. RJD MLA Bhai Birendra said that Mr. Kumar’s mental health condition is not good and needs medical attention.
Mr. Kumar lost his cool over Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA from Jehanabad Suday Yadav was asking a supplementary question while taking points from his mobile phone. Mr. Kumar demanded Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav to ban the House members from coming with mobile phones as it was banned earlier.
Tejashwi Yadav, wrote in his ‘X’ account that, “arrangements have been made to answer questions online in order to make the House paperless. If an honourable member has to ask a supplementary question, he will have to ask it by looking at his mobile or tab, but the computer-illiterate Chief Minister of Bihar has a problem with that too.”
He wrote, “It is unfortunate that Bihar has got such a conservative and outdated Chief Minister who is anti-technology as well as anti-youth, students and women. Condemnable!”
