President’s rule imposed in Manipur-OxBig News Network

The Centre on Thursday imposed President’s rule in Manipur.

This was stated in a Ministry of Home Affairs notification.

The Manipur Assembly had been put under suspended animation, the MHA notification said.

The chief minister of the strife-torn state, N Biren Singh, had recently tendered his resignation.

This had led to speculation about the future of the state.
