Authorities are currently at the crash site, believed to be an open field, to investigate the cause of the accident. More information about the type of aircraft and the condition of the second pilot is still awaited.
This incident adds to a series of recent IAF aircraft accidents:
April 2025 (Jamnagar, Gujarat): A two-seater IAF Jaguar fighter aircraft crashed during a night training mission in an open field in Suvarda village, about 18 km from Jamnagar city. One pilot died in the accident. The IAF reported a technical malfunction, and a Court of Inquiry was ordered.
March 2025 (Ambala, Haryana & Bagdogra, West Bengal): On the same day, an IAF Jaguar fighter jet crashed shortly after taking off from the Ambala airbase in Haryana. Separately, an AN-32 transport plane crash-landed in Bagdogra, West Bengal. In both cases, the aircrew safely ejected. The Jaguar crash was attributed to a technical issue, but the reason for the AN-32’s crash-landing was not immediately known.
Investigations into the latest crash in Churu are underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the accident.
