SDAT invites bids for construction of jallikattu arena at Suriyur-OxBig News Network

The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) has floated a tender inviting bids for construction of a Chief Minister’s Mini Stadium-Jallikattu Arena at Suriyur near Tiruchi.

The village, situated on the outskirts of the city, usually hosts the first jallikattu in Tiruchi district every year on Mattu Pongal day.

School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, while participating in this year’s jallikattu at the village, had said that the mini-stadium with a jallikattu arena would be built at Periya Suriyur at a cost of ₹3 crore. The village is situated in the Tiruverumbur Assembly constituency represented by the Minister.

As per the tender notification, the last date for submission of bids is February 4. The project is scheduled to be executed within nine months from the date of the handing over of the site.
