The State Education Policy (SEP) Commission will submit its report back to the federal government by the second week of this month, mentioned Higher Education Minister M.C. Sudhakar on Monday.
He was talking on the launch of a tri-monthly journal by the Karnataka State Higher Education Council, which was launched by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. After the launch, Dr. Sudhakar mentioned the fee’s prolonged deadline handed on May 31. “The translation work is almost over and the final report will be submitted soon,” he mentioned.
According to the officers of the division of Higher Education, the federal government can’t implement the whole coverage at a time. “The implementation of the policy needs to be discussed at various levels of the government and it also needs a set aside budgetary allocation. If there is any particular recommendation which needs immediate attention or implementation in the interest of the students, then such recommendations will be considered. Basically, the policy will be implemented in a phased manner,” mentioned a senior official of the division.
₹2,600 crore mortgage
The State authorities has given approval for the Higher Education division to get a ₹2,600 crore mortgage from the Asian Development Bank, primarily for the strengthening of Technical Education within the State.
Sharing the small print, Dr. Sudhakar mentioned, “The Department of Economic Affairs of government of India has also approved our proposal. The Asian Development Bank team will be visiting the state between June 9 and 22 to visit and verify the programmes we have proposed.”
Tri-Monthly journal
The Tri-Monthly journal launched by the Higher Education Department is the first-of-its-kind within the historical past of the division. The journal will present each info, together with round, orders and assembly proceedings of the division to the stakeholders. “It is basically to keep stakeholders updated about the developments in the department,” Sudhakar added.
