Two CSIR-IICT scientists get National Academy of Sciences fellowship-OxBig News Network

Two scientists from the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) S. Venkata Mohan from the department of energy and environmental engineering, and L. Giribabu, department of polymers & functional materials, were conferred the fellowship of The National Academy of Sciences during its annual convention at IISER Bhopal.

Dr. Mohan has focused on biotechnologies for bioenergy and resource recovery from waste and wastewater, microbial electrochemical systems, hybrid fermentation, renewable chemicals and fuels, algal-based products. His accolades include the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize (2014), SERB-INAE Abdul Kalam Fellowship (2022), Golden Peacock Award (2022) etc. He authored 452 research articles.

Dr. Giribabu’s has focused on development of low-cost, efficient and durable materials particularly sensitizers, redox couples, hole transporting materials, cathode materials for excitonic solar cells. His honours include the Fellow Luminescence Society of India (2017), Fellow Telangana Academy of Science (2018), Fellow Andhra Pradesh Academy of Science (2019), Fellow Royal Society of Chemistry (2020) etc., said a press release on Thursday.
