Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is likely to lay emphasis on Gross State Domestic Product at the conference.

A two-day Collectors’ conference will be held on March 25 and 26 at the Secretariat in Velagapudi near here. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is expected to give a policy direction to the district officials on industrial growth, economic growth, Swarnandhra 2047, P4 etc, key areas for which the government is according a top priority.

Mr. Naidu is likely to lay emphasis on Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at the conference. The other key areas include achieving the goals of Swarnandhra 2047 and establishing one MSME park in each Assembly constituency taking the total to 175 parks. The government also aims to encourage women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to become entrepreneurs. The target is to develop at least one lakh women entrepreneurs in one year.  Achieving Swachh Andhra is likely to be another key area of discussion. 

The State government targets to achieve a higher growth rate of 15% from the current 12.94% by 2046-47 and a per capita income of $42,000 by that year, by which time the GSDP is projected to reach ₹347 lakh crore. The State aimed at becoming a $2.40 trillion economy by FY 2046-47, for which Swarna Andhra Vision had been unveiled.

In a recent State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting, Mr. Naidu instructed officials to establish (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) MSME parks in all 175 constituencies, starting with one park in each district.  Five Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs will also be set up within a month to support new ideas and businesses. These steps aim to boost employment and industrial growth across Andhra Pradesh.

The State government is gearing up to launch the P4 (P4’ (Public-Private-People Partnership) programme on Telugu New Year, Ugadi, March 30, to empower underprivileged sections of society. The key objective of the latest initiative is to encourage higher-income families to lend a helping hand to the underprivileged. The government emphasises the need for a structured and sustainable policy to take the initiative forward.

On Women’s Day on March 8, Mr Naidu said that his goal is to develop 1 lakh women entrepreneurs in Andhra Pradesh within a year.   The DWCRA groups are now receiving large loans from banks based on their repayment abilities. On the same lines, the government plans to extend financial support to women to help them grow into entrepreneurs.
