Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy landed in controversy after a footage of his brother Tirupati Reddy, who holds no official position, arriving at a school event in Vikarabad district with police security and a convoy emerged on social media.
Sharing the video on X, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) said that Revanth’s brother Anumula Tirupati Reddy (Anumula is the surname of Revanth Reddy) was given police security and a convoy greater than that of ministers in Vikarabad. The party claimed that the Reddy made school children stand in the sun without shoes and made them parade.
In a video, Tirupati Reddy could be seen arriving in a black SUV, receiving a floral welcome whilst students formed lines along the roadside. A marching band performed as he approached, followed by a student-led ceremonial parade.

On Friday, BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised the situation on X, suggesting that Telangana now appears to have multiple chief ministers since Congress assumed power, though only one was elected.
KT Rama Rao added sarcastically: “My wishes to Vikarabad CM Tirupati Reddy.”

NV Subhash, Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson, questioned why Tirupati Reddy received police escort despite not being an elected representative. He also claimed the Vikarabad District Collector behaved like Reddy’s “personal bodyguard” during the school programme.
Congress spokesperson Sama Rammohan Reddy responded to PTI, stating that schools have autonomy in choosing and welcoming their guests.
Hitting out at the BRS, he said, during the BRS regime, there were many instances of violations of rules and protocols by the family members of the then CM K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Rama Rao’s young son also used to have patrolling vehicle and security during his visits, he said.
BRS regime was known for KCR’s family rule, Rammohan Reddy said.
