IPL 2025: KL Rahul helping plot plans against LSG, reveals Vipraj Nigram -OxBig News Network

Delhi Capitals’ Vipraj Nigam has said that the team will be using KL Rahul’s insights for the game against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday, April 22. Rahul was the captain of LSG till last season and guided them to the playoffs in 2022 and 2023. Most of the players in the current, including the likes of Nicholas Pooran and Avesh Khan played under the 33-year-old over the past few seasons.

This will be the first time Rahul will be playing against LSG since leaving the franchise after not being retained ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Nigam said that Rahul’s knowledge of the LSG players will be helpful and they do discuss about it during team meetings.

“Not specifically for this match, but I do get advice from seniors in every game on how to perform better. Regarding Rahul bhaiya, yes, he helps, especially since he’s played with some players who were part of Lucknow last year and are still with them this year. So in our team meetings, we definitely discuss that—it really helps when someone has that insight about the opposition’s bowlers and batters,” said Nigam.

Speaking about Faf du Plessis’ availability, Nigam said that the South African batting is recovering well but the final call will be taken by the team management.

“He is recovering well but the final call will be taken by the management,” said Nigam.

‘Consider myself an all-rounder’

Speaking about his role in the team, Nigam said that he considers himself to be an all-rounder and wants to make contributions with bat and ball whenever required.

“I consider myself an all-rounder. I have to make contributions with the ball and also with the bat whenever required,” said Nigam.

Nigam also talked about the pressure of playing in front of his home crowd and said that it just adds up when playing infront of family and coach.

“Yes, there is a lot of pressure and nervousness in all the games. It just adds up when you play in front of your family and coach.”
