Virginia Giuffre, one of the most prominent accusers of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and Britain’s Prince Andrew, has died by apparent suicide at her home in Western Australia, her family confirmed on Saturday. She was 41.
“It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia,” the family said in a statement provided to AFP by her agent. “She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.”

Giuffre, who held a dual citizen of the United States and Australia, had long been a vocal advocate for victims of sexual exploitation, bravely sharing her story publicly despite the intense scrutiny and pressure she faced.
Following news of her tragic passing, social media was flooded with tributes and remembrances, many circulating a chilling quote from Giuffre’s appearance in the Netflix docu-series ‘Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich’. In the series, Giuffre hauntingly warned, “The monsters are still out there…”

In another chilling post, her throwback post claiming that too many people want to silence her, has since gone viral. In her post, she wrote, “I am making it publicly known that in no way, shape or form am I suicidal. I have made this known to my therapist and GP – If something happens to me – in the sake of my family do do not let this go away and help me to protect them. Too many evil people want to see me quieted.”

The Netflix series documented Epstein’s sprawling web of exploitation, with Giuffre serving as one of its most powerful voices. “Epstein’s survivors serve as the series’ pre-eminent voices, providing powerful testimonials about their experiences, and inspiration in their resilience,” Netflix said about the project.
Giuffre had accused Epstein of trafficking her and forcing her into sexual encounters with high-profile figures, including Prince Andrew. She alleged that she was 17 years old — legally a minor under US law — when she was allegedly forced to have sexual relationship with the royal after meeting him through Epstein. Prince Andrew has repeatedly denied the allegations and settled a civil lawsuit filed by Giuffre in 2022 without admitting wrongdoing.
Epstein himself died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges in New York, a death that sparked widespread controversy and conspiracy theories.
