South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has returned home after playing just two matches in the Indian Premier League. Gujarat Titans, the IPL franchise that Rabada plays for, issued a statement on Thursday, April 3, after the fast bowler was absent for the team’s match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Rabada bowled his full quota of overs in the two matches he played. The right-arm pacer gave away 83 runs and, in return, picked up two wickets. Rabada’s absence was addressed by Shubman Gill at the toss against RCB. Shubman had revealed that Rabada was not a part of the squad due to personal matters. A day later, GT have followed up on the same, and revealed that the pacer has flown back to South Africa.

GT’s statement does not shed light on whether Rabada will return to the competition.
“Gujarat Titans pacer Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa from the ongoing season of the TATA IPL due to some personal reasons. The South Africa international was a part of Gujarat Titans’ first two matches of the TATA IPL 2025,” the Gujarat Titans statement said.
“Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa to deal with an important personal matter,” it added.
