She took to social media, citing the example of British parliamentarian Bob Blackman, who has raised concerns about Khalistani sympathizers disrupting screenings of ‘Emergency’ in British cinemas.

A UK Conservative Party MP has called on the Home Secretary to take action after “masked Khalistani terrorists” disrupted a screening of Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ in north-west London, threatening his constituents.
“On Sunday, many of my constituents gathered and paid for a screening of the film ‘Emergency’ in the Harrow Vue cinema. At about 30 or 40 minutes into the screening of the film, masked Khalistani terrorists burst in, threatened members of the audience, and forced the screening to end,” Bob Blackman said in Parliament.
Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency,’ which portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during the 21-month Emergency from 1975 to 1977, was released on January 17, 2025, after several delays. The film has faced controversy over its censor certificate and allegations of misrepresenting the Sikh community. Despite this, it has garnered praise for its portrayal of historical events.
