Preparations are in full swing at the residence of late actor-filmmaker Manoj Kumar as his family, the Bollywood film fraternity and fans prepare to bid him a final farewell today.
Photos and visuals from his home saw family members and staff prepping up the premises with floral arrangements being laid out. Another video shared on ANI, saw an ambulance that will carry the actor’s mortal remains being decorated with tri-colour flowers to depict the national flag.

The 87-year-old Padma Shri awardee passed away on Friday at a hospital, where he had been under medical care since February 21 due to deteriorating health.
According to a statement from his son, Kunal Goswami, the cremation is scheduled to take place later today at Pawan Hans, with the final journey expected to begin this afternoon. Providing details of the last rites, Kunal told the media, “We will leave the hospital at 9. We will come here at 10 at our house. And at 11, we will go to Pawan Hans for cremation.”
Opening up about his father’s final days, he spoke of the pain the veteran actor endured before passing away peacefully. “There was a lot of pain. When organs fail, there are a lot of pains… But ultimately, I think it was more towards the heart. He passed away peacefully. I am thankful to God for that,” he said.
Kunal also recalled his father’s final hours, sharing a poignant memory from the morning of his passing. “I woke up at 4:30 in the morning. He was unwell. He had been unwell for a long time. We were praying that his pain would reduce… Doctors were trying a lot,” he told IANS.
Manoj Kumar, fondly remembered as “Bharat” for his strong patriotic themes in films like Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim, and Kranti, leaves behind a monumental legacy in Indian cinema as both an actor and a filmmaker. On hearing of his passing, tributes poured in from across the country, with everyone from PM Modi, to President Murmu, and members of the film industry from Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan and many others paying tribute.
