What are the main events for today? | Forexlive

In the European session, once again we don’t have much on the agenda other than a couple of low tier releases like the final French CPI and the Swiss consumer confidence data. Neither of those will influence interest rates expectations.

In the American session, we get the Canadian employment data. It’s expected to show 0.0K jobs added in June vs 8.8K in May, and the unemployment rate to tick higher to 7.1% vs 7.0% in the prior month. The market is pricing 29 bps of easing by year-end and it’s unlikely that this report will influence expectations much unless we get big deviations.

We are approaching the US CPI report scheduled for Tuesday and that will likely be the main event of the month.
