Mukesh Khanna urges female actors to slap abusers in the face while addressing the casting couch in the industry: ‘No one will be able to take liberties with you’ | Hindi Movie News

Actor Mukesh Khanna recently opened up about the casting couch in the industry and what he has to say to the victims, who sometimes end up under mental pressure, with some even sacrificing their lives. In a recent interview, the actor shared how he advises people not to stay in the industry if they don’t like it, whether it’s from the costume to the dialogues.

While recalling an incident from the sets of ‘Mahabharat‘, where he played Bhishma Pitamah, the actor explained how he felt uncomfortable with the hair wig and requested a change. He continued discussing the casting couch issue in the industry during an interview with Hindi Rush, stating that many people enter the industry aspiring to become big stars, even promising their parents that they will return home as celebrities.

Mukesh Khanna clarifies after getting criticised for his #MeToo remark

“I tell every struggler, I’ve even told female strugglers. If someone tries to take liberties with you, the producer or anyone, there’s even a casting couch. I’ve heard them say it. I say, slap him in the face,” he said.
Mukesh added that many actors, especially female stars, do not react, fearing they will lose the job. The ‘Shaktimaan‘ actor advised them not to adjust by compromising their own liberty for others. He says there are many more jobs in the world.
“Why are you stuck with this producer who is taking liberties with you? I’m against it. I’m in their favour. If you want to go, think before you go. That’s why there are suicides. Models commit suicide,” the actor shared. He believes that after such terrible experiences, victims are too scared to come home and explain things to their families, so they end up taking their own lives.
“People say, ‘She acts so well, how did she kill herself?’ No one knows what happened to her. I tell them, that’s why don’t ever let others cross limits. Stay within the limit,” the actor added.

Khanna further shared that on film sets, anyone can access free alcohol and food in abundance, but they should think carefully before accepting. “You’ll get alcohol for free. You’ll get food for free. Your stomach is yours. Think before you do it. Don’t fall into temptation.”
Mukesh Khanna believes that if actresses or stars have the courage to say no to things and the willingness to discuss them with family or friends, there will be fewer suicides linked to the casting couch. He urged actresses who suffer such incidents to confide in their mothers, brothers, friends, or anyone else they trust.
“It takes two minutes for a person to hang themselves or jump. A precious life is lost just for a role, just for success. Be strong. I want to say this both as Shaktimaan and Mukesh Khanna. Live in your industry at your own expense. No one will be able to take liberties with you,” he concluded.
