‘Om Kaali Jai Kaali’ trailer: Vemal returns to the world of OTT with this raw and gritty revenge drama-OxBig News Network

After making a stellar debut in the world of OTT with ZEE5’s Vilangu (2022), actor Vemal is back in the same space with a raw and rooted tale. The actor is playing the lead in JioHotstar’s upcoming Hotstar Specials Om Kaali Jai Kaali. The makers released the series’ trailer and also announced the streaming date of the series.

Said to be “an intense folklore revenge drama set against the backdrop of Tamil Nadu’s grand Dussera festival”, the series will stream on JioHotstar from March 28.

In a statement released by the makers, Vemal, who plays Ganesan in the series, said, “Ganesan is unlike any character I have played. The transformation from festival performer to warrior was a thrilling challenge.”

Director Ramu Chellappa says, “Dussera is not just a festival—it is an emotion. We wanted to bring this raw intensity to life through a story that blends folklore with revenge.” 

Om Kaali Jai Kaali also stars Ganja Karuppu, DRK Kiran, Elango Kumaravel, Pugazh, GM Kumar and Divya Duraisamy.

Seen recently in Badava, Vemal next has Paramasivan Fathima lined up for release.
