Operation Sindoor: Commercial flights suspended in northern parts of India-OxBig News Network

Several airports in northern parts of the country were shut as India carried out military strikes at several points near its border with Pakistan in the early hours of Wednesday (May 7, 2025).

Srinagar airport was closed for flights, according to airport officials.

Other airports that were also shut were Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, Dharamshala, according to SpiceJet in a post on X.

Air India said in a post on said its flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot stood cancelled till 12 p.m. on Wednesday.

Additionally, IndiGo said its flights from Bikaner were also impacted.

Airlines informed their passengers on social media that flight departures and arrivals could be hit and advised them to check their flight status and plan their air travel accordingly.

Flight tracking website also showed that there were no commercial flights in Indian skies north of New Delhi.
