‘Predator: Killer of Killers’ drops surprise trailer, animated anthology to release in June-OxBig News Network

The long-rumored second Predator film slated for 2025 has finally been unveiled — and it’s animated. Titled Predator: Killer of Killers, the secret project was announced Tuesday by 20th Century Studios, with a new trailer and a streaming release date set for June 6 on Hulu and Disney+.

The film is an anthology that follows three legendary warriors across different eras: a Viking raider on a vengeance mission with her son, a ninja in feudal Japan caught in a deadly power struggle with his samurai brother, and a World War II pilot confronting an alien threat mid-battle. Each of these formidable fighters is ultimately hunted by the deadliest force in the galaxy — the Predator.

Directed by Prey filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg alongside Josh Wassung of The Third Floor animation studio, the movie is based on a script by Micho Robert Rutare. It builds on the success of Prey, the 2022 Hulu hit that redefined the franchise with its historical setting and a fierce lead performance by Amber Midthunder.

Trachtenberg, who’s become the creative anchor of the Predator universe, originally pitched multiple ideas after Prey, and the studio greenlit two of them. The first, Predator: Badlands, is a live-action feature starring Elle Fanning and arriving in theaters on November 7. That film made headlines at CinemaCon last week when Fanning revealed her character teams up with the Predator in a surprising twist.

Killer of Killers marks the first animated installment in the franchise’s history, and based on early reactions to its concept, it’s poised to add fresh blood to the long-running sci-fi series.
