Rajinikanth praises the Indian forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi following ‘Operation Sindoor’

Rajinikanth has voiced strong support for Operation Sindoor, a major military operation carried out by the Indian Armed Forces in the early hours of May 7. The operation, launched at 1:44 a.m., targeted nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), resulting in at least 17 reported terrorist deaths and over 60 injuries.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Jailer star praised the Indian armed forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The fighter’s fight begins… No stopping until the mission is accomplished! The entire NATION is with you,” he wrote following the strikes.

The Defence Ministry confirmed the strikes were focused and deliberate, aimed solely at terror infrastructure. “No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted,” the official statement read. “India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution.”

Rajinikanth’s statement quickly went viral, drawing attention from across the film industry. Pushpa star Allu Arjun posted the operation’s poster, writing, “May justice be served. Jai Hind #OperationSindoor.” Chiranjeevi, too, expressed his support with a simple but powerful “Jai Hind,” also sharing the poster.

Bollywood was not far behind. Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Paresh Rawal, and Nimrat Kaur were among those who applauded the Indian Army’s action, adding to the growing chorus of support from the entertainment world.

The precision strikes reportedly hit terror hubs in Kotli, Ahmadpur Sharqia, Muzaffarabad, Muridke, and Faisalabad. Officials described the mission as “non-escalatory” and emphasised India’s commitment to avoiding a wider conflict, even while sending a clear message.

Operation Sindoor is being seen as a strategic response to continued cross-border threats. While the Indian government has not released details on the intelligence behind the operation, sources say the targeted sites were actively being used to plan attacks on Indian soil.
