Ramesh Karthik Nayak, the first tribal Telugu writer to be conferred with the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar, has now bagged the Muse India Young Writer Award 2024 in the poetry category. The recognition, Ambika Ananth Award for Poetry, comes for his English poetry collection Chakmak.
Mr. Ramesh was named the winner on Monday, alongside author and historian Manu S. Pillai, who won the GSP Rao Award in the non-fiction category for his book Guns, Gods and Missionaries: The Making of Modern Hindu Identity.
The Muse India Awards recognise emerging and established voices in Indian literature writing in English or those translated in English from Indian languages.
