Ranbir Kapoor’s action-packed drama ‘Animal’ made a huge impact at the box office in 2023. His character, Ranvijay, from the movie, a fierce and aggressive portrayal, marked a departure from his usual on-screen personas. Recently, Ranbir opened up about his initial reaction when he first heard the narration of the film. He admitted that he didn’t initially see himself as the character but was intrigued by the idea and eager to take on the challenge.
During a recent interaction at the 2024 Red Sea International Film Festival, Ranbir told Zee Business that he loved his part while director Sandeep Reddy Vanga explained the story. He shared that if the story is unique, he trusts his instincts and the filmmaker. He used ‘Animal’ as an example: “When I heard the part, I was like, ‘Okay, I’m not this person, but I would love to be a part of this world,’” the actor stated.

The ‘Tamasha’ actor also revealed that playing the role was a significant challenge for him, one that he couldn’t have taken on without the guidance of director Sandeep Reddy. Ranbir believes that, as an actor, it’s very important to keep reinventing, changing, and surprising. ‘Animal’ also featured Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri in key roles.

On the work front, Ranbir will portray Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s epic ‘Ramayana’ and is currently filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’, with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Additionally, Ranbir is set to appear in the much-awaited ‘Dhoom 4’ and has signed on for the sequel to ‘Animal’, ‘Animal Park’. He will also work with Ayan Mukerji in ‘Astraverse’.
