Kiev: Russia has avenged the attack on Ukraine in just 24 hours. 7 people have died in a city in southern Ukraine in an air strike by the Russian army. Russia carried out this attack through missiles. According to Ukrainian officials, seven civilians, including children, were killed in this attack and many others were injured. Local authorities released pictures of a dead body lying in a park in Vilniansk. Officials said that 36 people were injured in the attack on Saturday evening and Sunday has been declared a day of mourning.
Vilniansk is in the Zaporizhzhia region, located less than 30 kilometers (20 miles) from the local capital. Local governor Ivan Fedorov said that three children were also among the dead. Fedorov said in a post on Telegram that the attack damaged a shop, residential building and an infrastructure in Vilniansk. After the attack in Vilniansk, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Kiev’s Western partners to stop Russian attacks.
Russia shot down 36 Ukrainian drones
Eight civilians were killed and 14 others injured on Saturday night in Ukraine’s violence-hit eastern Donetsk region, according to the local governor. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed on Sunday that its forces shot down 36 Ukrainian drones in six regions in southwestern Russia overnight.
