A man who sustained serious injuries in a road accident in Gachibowli on Tuesday (December 24), succumbed while undergoing treatment on Wednesday (December 25, 2024) night.
The deceased was identified as 26-year-old Venkat Reddy who worked as a software employee. He was riding the bike at the time of the accident.
The police arrested 19-year-old Y. Srikalash, a BBA student, who rammed his speeding car into their bike from rear and fled from the spot in the wee hours of Tuesday (December 24, 2024).
A 21-year-old B.Tech student Shivani, of Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), was riding pillion with Venkat and was killed on the spot.
According to the Raidurgam Inspector Ch.Venkanna, the duo was riding on the service road from Raidurgam to Narsingi. “Srikalash, at a speed of about 100 kilometre per hour in his sedan, drove in a negligent manner and hit the bike,” the official explained. The body was handed over to the family members for final rites following postmortem. Investigation is underway.
