Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan’s King delayed due to minor script changes: Report | Hindi Movie News

Fans eager for Shah Rukh Khan’s much-talked-about project ‘King’ may need to wait a bit longer. The film, initially expected to begin production in mid-2025 with a targeted Eid 2026 release, has reportedly encountered new delays, pushing its schedule once again.
Helmed by Pathaan director Siddharth Anand, King is shaping up to be a high-stakes venture—especially as it marks the big-screen debut of Suhana Khan alongside her father. According to Mid-Day, the shooting timeline has been postponed due to ongoing revisions in the screenplay. Shah Rukh Khan is holding off until the script meets his standards. “Scripting is ongoing. The makers want to ensure they have a terrific script in hand before the camera starts rolling,” the report stated.
At the same time, Shah Rukh wants the team to take their time to polish the script, as it is an ambitious project for many. The team is now planning to begin filming in July–August.

Although initial plans aimed at a May 2025 shoot, the team is now realigning its timeline, opting for a later start to perfect the narrative. This creative pause also reflects Shah Rukh’s commitment to delivering quality storytelling, particularly given the emotional weight of sharing screen space with his daughter.

Earlier reports from PeepingMoon suggested that Deepika Padukone would appear in a cameo role, portraying Suhana Khan’s mother. Shortly after the report surfaced online, Siddharth took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to post a cryptic message: “False”.
Meanwhile, actor Abhishek Bachchan is reportedly locked in to play the primary antagonist in ‘King’.
